Oreo Brownies

How delicious do these brownies look… they look incredible, are the perfect texture, and smell insane fresh out of the oven. If I am making brownies these are my firm first choice. This recipe is from Emily Solman’s Instagram (@_emilysworld), she also shares lots more yummy recipes – some of my favs are the biscoff cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies.

With this recipe I usually make 9 brownies. So plenty to go around!

Equipment:

A Baking Tin ( I use a size similar to this)

Weighing Scales

A Mixing Bowl (medium to large size)

A Small Glass Bowl

A Mixing Spoon

Baking Paper

Ingredients:

140g Plain Flour

20g Cocoa Powder

200g Caster Sugar

80ml Vegetable Oil

100g Melted Chocolate ( I use dark chocolate but milk would also work)

240ml Milk (I use almond milk but any type of milk would be fine to use)

1 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)

1 Pack of Oreos

Method:

STEP ONE – Pre heat your oven to 180 degrees and line your baking tin.

STEP TWO – Add all of the dry ingredients to your main mixing bowl (includes the flour, cocoa powder and sugar) and mix together.

STEP THREE – Melt your chocolate. I usually opt for the microwave method for this but you can also melt your chocolate on the hob, in a small glass bowl, over some hot water.

STEP FOUR – Add all of your wet ingredients to the main mixing bowl and mix everything together. I start by adding the melted chocolate, followed by the oil, and then the milk and vanilla extract.

STEP FIVE – Transfer the batter into the (already lined) baking tin from the main mixing bowl and ensure the batter is spread evenly.

STEP SIX – Time to add the Oreos on top!!! As you can see from the image below I try to put one Oreo per piece of brownie (so I use 9 Oreos). But you can add them however you like, you can break them up if you wanted.

STEP SEVERN – Place the baking tin into the oven and bake for roughly 30 minutes. Do check with a knife (it should come out clean) and make sure the batter is cooked through, you may need to keep it in the oven for a little longer.

STEP EIGHT – Remove from the oven, leave to cool and enjoy!!

*Top tip* Leave your brownies to cool in the tin for roughly 10 minutes before removing and slicing 🙂

Let me know in the comments or via Instagram if you give these a go, I would love to see your creations and I’m sure Emily would too!
