Favourite Smoothies

I love making smoothies, I usually have them for lunch and pack loads of goodness in them. You could also have them for breakfast or just a healthy snack throughout the day. If I do have them for breakfast I make it into a smoothie bowl and add extra fruit after the smoothie has been blended. This just makes me feel like I’m having more of a breakfast compared to just drinking a smoothie out a glass. Either way the smoothies are so nice. In this post I want to share three of my favourite recipes, they’re quick and simple, so you can have time to make them in the morning before work too. Of course adding the protein powder is optional in all recipes.

Blueberry Smoothie!

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 handfuls of frozen blueberries
  • A banana, I only just half in my smoothie but use it all if you want!
  • Milk of your choice, I use oat milk
  • Ice
  • Splash of water
  • Chai seeds and protein powder (optional)

Strawberry Choco smoothie!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of frozen strawberries
  • A banana, I use half of one
  • Milk of your choice, I use oat milk
  • Ice
  • Splash of water
  • 2 tsps of cacao powder
  • Chai seeds and chocolate protein powder (optional), I use bulk powders whey protein. I highly recommend this protein powder, it has a great taste and helps stops my cravings. I use it in a lot of my smoothies and baking.

Mango Tropical Smoothie!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Mango (this is the base to the smoothie)
  • 1 cup of Pineapple
  • 1 cup of Passionfruit
  • Milk of your choice, I use oat or soya.
  • Splash of water
  • Ice
  • Chai seeds (optional)
  • Vanilla protein powder. I don’t tend to add protein powder to this smoothie, I prefer the tastes without but you go ahead!

This is a great smoothie for summer.

Good to know: I use more water than milk in my smoothies as it does have less calories in, but milk is also good. Water helps keep you hydrated. I like to mix both together, the little splash of milk makes the smoothies seem creamier.

For ALL THREE smoothies I throw everything into the blender at the same time and then blend until smooth and theres no ice cubes left.

These are just three out of loads of my favourite smoothies, the main difference between them is the different fruit your putting in, the base ingredients are similar throughout. There is so many more smoothie combinations you could make. You can also change the quantities of each ingredient in the smoothies to whatever you like, go crazy! If you like these recipes or have any of your own comment them below, I would love to try them.
